The WMU provides churches with promotional material to use throughout their campaign of promoting the Mary Hill Davis Offering in their church. To view our material click on a link below:

Ideas for Promotion

• Use the Because You Give reproducible art in church bulletins, newsletters, websites, bookmark prayer reminders, etc.
• Use the information in the Churchwide Plans to create bulletin boards, displays, handouts or bulletin inserts, showing the various life-changing ministries made possible because of the Mary Hill Davis Offering.
• Use the information to create an 11x17 activity placemat to use at a churchwide dinner event to increase interest in the variety of ministries Texas Baptists support.
• Have a 100th birthday party for the Mary Hill Davis Offering highlighting the various ministries through the years.
• Involve all age groups in your church in some aspect of the emphasis. Think of how you can apply these focus areas in your church and your town.
• Compile some of the information to use in Sunday School departments and classes to help raise the awareness of these ministries.
• Join with your association to plan an associational Texas missions banquet or fair to focus on the ministries the offering provides. Invite guest speakers to represent the various areas, have booths to highlight the ministries, have groups from area churches who have participated in any of these ministries to share testimonies about their involvement and experiences.
• Create an offering visual to track the progress of the offering through your church.
• Use an outline of the shape of Texas as the basis of the visual.
• Assign a dollar amount to each letter in the word HOPE. As each fourth of the offering comes in, add a large letter to spell out the word HOPE. After you have reached or passed your goal add the scripture verse to celebrate the hope and glory of God.
• Make 100 holes to put Christmas tree lights and add one for each 100th of the offering goal comes in. 
• Cut out 100 candles from colored cardstock. Write “A Legacy of Hope” on each one. As each 100th of the offering goal comes in, add a candle to help cover the state.
• Cut out paper doll shapes of people. Decide on the dollar amount each shape will represent of your goal. As that amount comes in, add a shape to encircle Texas.  Title your visual “What kind of missions legacy will you leave?”

Additional Ideas not in your Curriculum

• Decorate a tree or your bulletin board with a cut-out dove for each person who commits to support the Mary Hill Davis Offering.

• Youth Idea: Have the youth plan a talent show encouraging Texas missions. During the event show clips of events or ministries your youth group has participated in ie: youth camp, YEC, Congreso, Super Summer, etc, that are supported by the Mary Hill Davis Offering. Youth many share skits, testimonies, and praise for what God has done in their lives through the events they have participated in. Youth may charge for this church wide event and give all proceeds to the Mary Hill Davis Offering. A fun way to connect this talent show to the theme of Mary Hill Davis, A Legacy of Hope, is by including pictures from all generations in your church. They may also call the event the “Dove Awards”, taken after the Christian Music Awards show.
